What is the child restraint law?

Any child under the age of 1, or any child weighing 20 pounds or less must be in a rear-facing child safety seat in the rear seat if available.
Children ages 1-3 weighing more than 20 pounds are to be in a forward facing child safety seat in the rear seat if available.
Chidren ages 4-8 measuring less than 4' 9" must use a belt-positioning booster seat in the rear seat if available.
Children ages 9-12 measuring 4' 9" or more in height must use a seat belt in the rear seat if available.
