The Greeneville Police Department consists of 46 sworn full-time officers and approximately 30 auxiliary police officers. The mission of the Greeneville Police Department is to protect and serve the citizens in our community, to protect and uphold the United States Constitution, and to maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct. The Greeneville Police Department is currently seeking funding through the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA)’s Recovery Act: Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG). This is a block grant and requires no “matching” or continuing funds from the Town of Greeneville. This is the first year that the Greeneville Police Department has applied for the Recovery Act: Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant. 
           

The Recovery Act: Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant is a federally funded endowment. As part of the Recovery Act: Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant requirements, the Greeneville Police Department must notify the public that it is seeking the grant. A copy of the Recovery Act: Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant application will be kept on file at the Greeneville Police Department records division (Greeneville Police Department, 200 N. College Street, Greeneville TN 37745). Anyone wishing to examine the grant application may do so by contacting either Phyllis Smith or Lt. Steve Hixson at (423) 639-7111.
